I didn't realize this was a powered USB hub when I bought it. In other words, it came with an a/c power adapter in addition to a USB cable. That means unless you plug it into the wall, you're not going to be able to charge anything like an iPhone with it. Not a total deal breaker, but would have been nice to know. I should have read the reviews and product description a little more closely.
I'm going for a minimalistic approach on my desk so the A/C power adapter is not going to be used. I can still use it for USB thumb drives, and it'll still sync my iPhone (a pop up states that your phone won't be charging). I do use thumb drives quite a bit and I got tired of standing up and reaching around my iMac to get to the USB ports. This solves that problem for me.
Also something to note- When the hub is connected to your computer, there's a small orange LED light on the top of it that stays illuminated. And the right side cable holder is rubbery and easily flexible.
It's one of the better looking USB hubs I've seen and looks halfway respectable under my iMac. |

So far so good, the other reviews on this item are really accurate. For some reason the imac only has usb ports in the back that are really hard to access so I needed a solution for that that would be able run external usb harddrives (western digital passport) and it does it perfectly. Good device for the price.
edit
I just saw that they raised the price. I bought it for 15.99 + tax :/ |

| It's compact and does the trick. I use all 4 ports. It's a bonus that it is powered. |

| Have used it now for about 3 months with no issues. Have a printer, External USB Hard drive and USB TV Tuner connected. Also use it for a 16 gb flash drive and my iphone. I would buy it again. |
